Cohoes, NY – May 6, 2025 – Mohawk, part of the Fedrigoni Group, is thrilled to announce the launch of Mohawk Renewal, featuring the innovative addition of Miscanthus fiber. This milestone underscores Mohawk's dedication to environmental sustainability and cutting-edge paper making, in collaboration with Genera Inc.

Mohawk Renewal: A Commitment to Sustainability

Mohawk Renewal embodies Mohawk’s evolving environmental story. With a focus on redefining fiber sourcing, we embrace a circular economy that prioritizes upcycling and recycling, driving sustainable paper making forward. Mohawk Renewal offers two alternative fiber papers: hemp and miscanthus. These fibers meet the rigorous quality standards of all Mohawk wood-pulped papers, delivering beauty, sustainability, and performance for creative communications and packaging applications.

Introducing Miscanthus: The Latest Fiber Addition

Miscanthus, a resilient biomass crop, combines beauty and strength for fiber pulp. Originally introduced to the U.S. as an ornamental plant, Miscanthus is drought and pest-resistant, yielding 7-10 dry tons per acre annually, even in marginal soil. Our partner, Genera, collaborates with landowners to cultivate Miscanthus, providing reliable, low-maintenance income opportunities while promoting regenerative agricultural practices. This carbon-neutral grass fiber boasts strong composition, making it versatile and beautiful.
